About this Course
In the rush of daily life, it's easy to lose touch with what truly matters. The wilderness retreat is an opportunity to take a break and more: to find clarity, direction and momentum.
The week in nature invites you to slow down, to get quiet and to reconnect: with yourself, with others - and with something greater. Guided by wise mentors and the rhythm of nature you will remember who you are and what you live for.
You will spend seven days in the wilderness, alone and with others. Media, phones and time are left behind. We sleep under tarps, cook over open fire, and move through a balanced program of reflection, nature-based practices, physical activities, rest and shared rituals. It all creates space for insights, transformation and meaningful connection.
This journey is not about performance and you don’t need any special skills. Through personal guidance and a warm, supportive setting, you’re invited to let go of what no longer serves you and tune in to what’s truly yours to carry.

The program is a joint offer by ChangeWild (Thoralf Rumswinkel) und Wilderness Vision (Manuel Sturm). A second date - 19-25 July 2026 - is held at the location of Wilderness Vision.

Wilderness retreat - Personal development in the mirror of nature

What to expect at the retreat
The retreat is not just an escape into nature. It’s a return to yourself, a search for the deeper truth of your life. It boils down into two questions:
- Who am I? – What is my human nature?
- What can I do? – What is my gift as a human to the world I live in?
In the stillness of the wild, free from distractions and expectations, space opens up to sense what truly matters. With nature as a mirror, through simplicity, silence, and skilled guidance the answers will come to you.
So you will return with more than just memories. You will return with clarity of purpose and trust in your own path. With the energy and power to change your life according to your self. Committed to make a positive impact on your world.
What you will take home
- A deep sense of connection with yourself, others, and nature
- Clarity about who you are and what truly matters to you
- Renewed energy to make conscious choices in work and life
- Greater self-trust by knowing your weaknesses and discovering your strengths
- The courage to live with intention, guided by your own truth
- The capacity and commitment to contribute to your world

Structure
The 7-day wilderness retreat takes place in the unspoilt nature of the Norwegian highlands. Start point and meeting place is Tynset railway station, 4 hours north of the Norwegian capital Oslo and its airport.
In the afternoon of the arrival day there will be a shared taxi transfer from the meeting point into the wilderness. There we set up our first camp.
The retreat is held as a nomadic wilderness camp. This means we’ll be camping outdoors and moving on to new campsites several times over the course of the week. The route is not fixed and depends on the situation, composition and dynamics of each group.
Being close to nature and living in the wilderness is an integral part of the personal development programme. Embedded in this framework are nature-related exercises, physical activity, rest periods, shared rituals and reflections alone, in pairs and in the group.
On departure day, we’ll take down the last camp and erase our traces. Still in the morning, a taxi will take us back to the starting point, so relevant trains/buses will be reached.
Prerequisites
The retreat is intended for adults.
Adolescents may attend under the supervision of a responsible adult.
No prior knowledge is required to join the retreat, no previous outdoor experience or athletic fitness needed.
What is important is your willingness to embark on an extraordinary adventure in nature and your ability to move under your own power in rough terrain.
Packing List
You will receive a packing list after you have made your booking. We can also send you the list in advance at your request.
Board & Overnight
As this is a nomadic wilderness camp, we'll be camping outdoors and moving to new campsites several times over the course of the week. We set up a new camp each time we move, find new spots to sleep, put up tarps for weather protection, and roll out insulating mats and sleeping bags. If needed, we also put up mosquito nets. As part of our daily routines, we will collect water for drinking and cooking, gather firewood and light and tend a campfire. Of course we'll also cook over the fire.
The retreat includes full board with a large proportion of organic, regionally produced food. As standard, we serve rich porridge/müesli for breakfast, sandwiches for lunch and a warm meal for dinner. Additionally there will be snacks.
The food is mainly vegetarian, with some game and fish as standard. On request, we can of course provide completely vegetarian or vegan food, or provide for other diets, with regard to preferences, intolerances, allergies or illnesses.
Cost Structure
For a fixed price of € 1.775 you get a fully organized and powerful experience in the Norwegian wilderness with a lasting impact. Be part of a small group with experienced guides.
We’ve made it easy for you:
- Just book your flight & train and bring your backpack.
- We’ll take care of the rest.
This is included
- Small group of 4–8 participants
- Team of two facilitators
- Impactful program as described
- Local taxi transfers on arrival and departure days
- 6 nights outdoors, sleeping under weatherproof tarps

WildNet.Earth Review Policy
Each rating result ranges from 1 to 10. The overall rating for a course is calculated by adding up all the ratings submitted and dividing them by the number of ratings. We use a weighted system: more recent ratings have a greater influence on the overall result.
Participants can also submit sub-ratings for important course areas – such as organizer communication, course management, content & learning progress, procedure & implementation, venue, catering, and accommodation. Sub-ratings and overall ratings are assigned independently of each other and are not necessarily directly related.
Participants can submit a review if they have taken part in a course via WildNet.Earth – even if they have not completed the course in full. In addition, participants can verify themselves and also write reviews even if they have not booked via WildNet.Earth. Changes to reviews that have already been submitted can only be made via WildNet customer service.
To prevent bias, WildNet.Earth uses processes that identify fake or unreliable reviews. Such content will be deleted and measures may be taken against those responsible. Suspicious posts can be reported to customer service by anyone at any time.

Guidelines and standards for reviews
These guidelines ensure that reviews on WildNet.Earth remain relevant, fair, and respectful—without restricting freedom of expression.
Contributions should have a clear connection to the course or experience and help other participants make an informed decision. Personal attacks, religious or political statements, advertising, or support requests (to the organizer or WildNet.Earth) do not belong in reviews and will be removed.

All content must be authentic, independent, and unbiased. Organizers and their partners may not create reviews on behalf of their participants or offer incentives for reviews. Attempts at manipulation (e.g., negative reviews against other organizers) will not be tolerated.
