Infos for Nature & Wilderness Schools

Welcome to the Wilderness Network.

We support people who spread connection with nature.

We strengthen the human-nature relationship because we believe that people connected to nature are beneficial to society. That’s why we’ve made it our mission to support as many people as possible in this valuable and important work. Every nature and wilderness school is home to people whose passion is to pass on this connection to nature. The Wilderness Network acts as a kind of alliance, developing solutions for common tasks and challenges, which are then made centrally available. Examples include the course finder, job search, graduate profiles, and the WildNet course management and booking software. At the same time, the Wilderness Network serves as an entry point for people interested in nature and wilderness schools, helping them find suitable offers nearby, ensuring comparability and transparency, and providing a pleasant and secure booking experience.

The network creates closeness

The members of the Wilderness Network are internationally represented and widespread across the DACH region (Germany, Austria, Switzerland). Many offerings can therefore be found nearby. This distribution is thanks to the many graduates of countless training programs and their organizers. Today, these organizers are active in various sectors and specialties, including: nature and wilderness education, natural crafts, tracking, bird language, plants, trees, mushrooms, survival, wilderness tours, community building, initiation & transition, mentoring, men’s and women’s courses, family & children’s courses, holiday camps, school class programs, nature journaling, and more.

The network for wilderness education & nature connection

"Find online - connect locally"

The network offers graduates in the field of nature and wilderness education a platform to present their offerings and connect. Local providers become more aware of each other. This creates opportunities for networking, exchange, joint projects, collaborations, and more.Potential participants and clients also encounter a wide range of courses here, conducted by competent providers who have completed at least a one-year training program. In the future, additional objective quality criteria will be introduced to help with course selection. The offerings of course leaders stand for deep nature connection, and their courses, seminars, and workshops are carried out with an emphasis on sustainability and harmony with nature. We wish you much success and joy in connecting and spreading nature connection! :-)

Working Groups & Common Challenges

In our field of work, topics often arise that affect everyone but usually can’t be effectively tackled alone. These are network issues. We engage in these topics on a volunteer basis in working groups and collaboratively produce concrete results online on specific subjects. The working groups are dynamic online teams formed around specific topics. People can be part of several groups and switch between them. Some groups disband after their goal is reached; others continue with new topics. We’re excited if you’d like to get involved!

Here’s how it works:

1. Join the waiting list of the respective working group. 2. Send an email to "info@wildnet.earth" and specify which working group(s) you’re interested in and what you can contribute. 3. Become a member. 4. You’ll receive a response shortly and, if applicable, info emails with the relevant free registration links and Zoom link. For convenience, the working groups are coordinated using the WildNet course and seminar management software.Under the motto "Working together – Shaping the future", the following topics are currently open for participation:

Working Group: Guiding Principles & Values Working Group: Regional Meetups Working Group: Quality Principles, Guidelines, and Standards Working Group: Queer People Working Group: Course & Seminar Management Software for Wilderness Schools Working Group: Guide for Graduates: From Training to First Own Course Are there unresolved challenges or areas where you’d like to see improvements?
