Über diesen Kurs

Campers will spend an exciting week crafting and shooting their own bow! They’ll learn to build a wooden longbow from a board, use a knife and file, and develop traditional and instinctive archery skills. They’ll learn Ranger skills and experience awesome adventures off-trail. This camp is highly recommended for campers who enjoy focusing on a project and working with hand tools.

  • Developing instinctive shooting abilities
  • Building the keen senses and awareness of the Ranger
  • Learning the safe use of knives as tools
  • Pursuing fun adventures off-trail
  • Connecting with new friends!



Struktur

Our instructional team features:

  • A 1:9 staff-student ratio
  • On-site director and volunteers who offer additional instructor support
  • Staff trained as Coyote Mentors, a widely-respected educational philosophy developed at the Wilderness Awareness School
  • Compassionate educators who encourage each child’s respect for self, others, and nature
  • Experienced Wilderness First Aid and CPR certified professionals

For 40 years, Wilderness Awareness School has been an internationally-recognized leader in the nature connection movement. Based outside of Seattle in the foothills of the Cascades, Wilderness Awareness School runs intensives and weekend programs for adults as well as summer, monthly, and weekly programs for children. Using the 8-shields model, the curriculum is comprised of survival skills, bird language, community leadership, wildlife tracking, "Coyote Mentoring," naturalist studies, and more. Wilderness Awareness School is a 501(c)(3) not-for-profit organization.
